Who we are
Bark Witness is operated by Novico, LLC ("Bark Witness," "we," "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information through www.barkwitness.com (the "Site") and in connection with the Bark Witness device. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
• Information you give us. When you use our contact or beta sign-up form, we collect your name, email address, and your request to join the beta program. If you buy a device, we collect your name, email, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses. Card and wallet payments are handled by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
• Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site and its hosting provider may log your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring pages. At checkout, our fraud-prevention provider also collects device and browsing-behavior signals to help detect fraudulent purchases.
• Device recordings. The Bark Witness device records audio with time and GPS stamps. These recordings are stored on the device, which works without an internet connection and is accessed over a password-protected WiFi link. We do not receive your recordings unless you choose to send them to us, for example for support.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
• Respond to your questions and manage the beta program
• Process payments, ship orders, handle returns, and provide customer support
• Send product updates you have asked for (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• Operate, secure, and improve the Site and our products, and prevent fraud
• Comply with the law and protect our rights
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
• With service providers who help us run the business, including GoDaddy (website hosting and online store), payment processors (GoDaddy Payments, Google Pay, and Paze), Sardine (fraud prevention at checkout), Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection), and shipping carriers. They may use it only to provide services to us.
• For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Bark Witness or others.
• In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Recordings you make with the device are yours. You decide whether to share them with neighbors, HOAs, property managers, or authorities, and you are responsible for following local laws on audio recording.
Cookies
The Site and its providers may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site and shopping cart working, prevent spam and fraud, and understand how visitors use it. Google reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then delete it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your device password private.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing emails. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU), you may have additional rights under local law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
